Audition Info
For auditions, each student should select a character for which they'd like to audition. They need to learn the lines associated with that character and their song as well. During auditions, a director will read the other characters' lines in that scene while the auditionee reads only the lines for the character in which they are auditioning. When they sing their song, they will do so "karaoke" style, using the instrumental track. They do not need to learn the entire song, just the portion listed for their character.
Not all characters are listed. If your child wishes to audition for a character not listed, have them learn the material labeled "everyone else", and when they fill out the preference form at the parent meeting, be sure to list their ideal choice.
If your child is only interested in ensemble or a small part, they will select "everyone else" as well, and then just list "ensemble" on the form they complete at the parent meeting. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.
